Calling all dragons, fairies, princesses, princes, wizards, warriors and royalty (and their families, of course) to join us at the Barron Park Walkathon for a fun day of walking, music, prizes, games, food, and good time.
The Walkathon is a free event for all Barron Park students and their families. We set up a course at the school and students try to walk as many laps as possible. The more laps they walk, the more prizes they can win! There will be music, food, and other fun activities for the whole family. Students can also fundraise for the school by collecting donations.
How to prepare?
- Mark Your Calendar
- Saturday, October 25th – 10am – 1pm at Barron Park Elementary
- The whole family is welcome! At least one adult should attend the event with their student – No drop-offs.
- Sign Up to Volunteer
- This event depends on volunteers. We need your help!
- Parents, guardians, grandparents, responsible older siblings can sign up to volunteer on ParentSquare here
- Sign the Waiver for the WHOLE FAMILY
- All participants need to sign the Barron Park PTA Waiver – students, siblings, parents, cousins, grandparents
- You can add all names to the same waiver here
- Students Set Goals and Ask for Donations
- Each student can set a goal for the distance they want to walk. Every 5 laps is ~1 mile. As students walk laps, they can earn Individual Prizes.
- Students can also raise funds from friends and family that directly benefit our school! They can ask for flat donations or pledges based on the number of laps they walk.
Donations can be made at this link or by cash or by check on the day of the event. Fundraising is not required to participate.
